Duties

What to Expect Serves as the Transition Readiness Program (TRP) Administrator, Personal and Professional Development (P&PD) Branch; Marine and Family Programs Division; Marine Corps Community Services. The purpose of this position is to serve as the Transition Readiness Program (TRP) Administrator to perform support functions of gathering, collecting, upkeeping, and reporting statistical data; to prepare and conduct briefs, presentations, and training sessions; to assist clients, and to participate in program outreach events as directed. The TRP Administrator is a member of the TRP office which conducts and executes the installation’s TRP duties to assist military members and their families as they transition to civilian life and complete all congressionally mandated requirements per Congressional Public laws, Department of Defense Instructions (DoDI), Marine Corps Orders and other directives. Greets clients and gathers brief personal data to assist in identifying immediacy of need and scheduling appointments. Receives clients and provides warm handoff to the appropriate service provider. Screens incoming telephone calls, determining those which can be answered, and those which must be referred. Schedules clients for classes and individual appointments and provides reminder/follow-up communication to clients. Adapts services for clients as needed. Assists in the execution and facilitation of transition assistance seminars and personal and professional development program lifecycle requirements. Supports registration and scheduling of clients; assists training instructors in preparation for classes or during training to include aiding students with course work; and coordinates logistics for hosting seminars and other events. Interfaces with unit personnel, Unit Transition Coordinators (UTC), designees, and others to ensure units are familiar with and educated on all program requirements. Provides UTC/Designee training, UTC/Designee refresher courses, TRP educational briefs, and other briefs as required. Research information on local and national career, education, and/or recruitment processes and standards, and labor market trends and produces supporting materials for distribution to clients. Conducts, organizes, and provides program analysis to ensure functional needs are met for programs and services. May work a fluctuating work schedule to complete work assignments outside of the typical work week and work hours. May travel to complete work assignments and conduct or attend conferences and meetings. This is a white-collar position where occasional lifting up to 20 lbs. may be required. Performs other related duties as assigned.
