Duties

  • Compile and analyze narrative and statistical material for the assigned mission area concerning the budget and major research programs in preparation for briefings to NIH, DHHS, OMB, the White House, and Congress.
  • Provide supervision and oversight of budget analysis and operations, contracts budget and analysis, and/or grants financial analysis in support of the formulation, execution, and evaluation of NIAID research budgets.
  • Provide advice to OMIFM and NIAID officials on NIAID budget operations for the assigned mission area in order to enable and support effective financial planning, budget management, and decision making.
  • Administer integrated financial management systems that support the budget operations of the three mission areas in ways that furnish timely data useful in the direction, evaluation, and control of biomedical research and health services.
  • Refine internal financial management systems to reflect new approaches on measuring progress through milestones and development of useful products to evaluate the financial implications of activities and aid management in programmatic assessments.
