This position serves as a Student Trainee (Logistics Management) for U.S. Army Security Assistance Command located at Redstone Arsenal, AL. This position may be non-competitively converted to competitive service after completion of program.
Duties
- Pathways Internship positions provide for development and training. Assignments become more responsible as incumbent increases knowledge and skills through work experience and academic training. At the full-performance level, you will be expected to:
- Monitor and assist in the management of foreign military sales (FMS) cases for development and/or execution.
- Assist with meeting preparation, including briefing charts, minutes, trackers, and all administrative duties associated with international engagements.
- Provide administrative assistance on special projects such as data collection, program projections, and research and evaluation of data.
- Input required data, track case progress, document status using approved tracking methods, maintain proper filing of all documentation, and coordinate follow-on tasks with team leaders.
Education
For this internship, you must be seeking a degree relevant to this position. This occupation has specific educational requirements for entry and applicants must show evidence that their planned academic program will meet those requirements (i.e. transcript reflecting enrollment in applicable programs).
Students who graduate without meeting those requirements may not be converted to the target position and could be separated from federal service. Educational requirements for conversion to the target position are: 4-year course of study leading to a bachelor’s degree with a major in a field relevant to this position.
FOREIGN EDUCATION: If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university.

How You Will Be Evaluated
You will be evaluated based on how well you meet the qualifications listed in this vacancy announcement. Basis for Rating: Qualified candidates will be assigned to one of two quality categories: Ideal Candidate and Eligible Candidate. Veteran preference eligibles are listed ahead of non-preference eligibles within each quality category. Ideal: This category will be used for those candidates who are enrolled in a program relevant to this position and maintain a 3.0 GPA.
Eligible: This category will be used for those candidates who meet the minimum qualifications of the position.
