Summary
About the position: This position is Non-Appropriated Fund (NAF) and will be assigned to the Buckner Fitness Center Pool and Elmendorf Fitness Center Pool on JBER, AK. Applications are open to ages 16 and older. You may work 0 hours per week up to 40 hours per week. Flexible employees schedules depend on the needs of the activity and may be subjected to “on call” work in addition to hours posted on the schedule.
Duties
- Continuously observes swimming area to ensure safety of patrons.
- Ensures the swimming area is open to patrons at scheduled times and only authorized persons are admitted to the area.
- Rescues swimmers in trouble, promptly administers first aid, and calls for medical assistance if and when needed.
- Warns swimmers of unsafe environmental or health conditions.
- When working at pools, may operate water pumps and control chemical additives to ensure pool water meets specified standards.
- Ensures that diving boards, swimming equipment, and deck area are inspected frequently for cracks, loose matting, debris or hazards and that necessary repairs and notification(s) are made.
- May perform other related or incidental duties as assigned for the daily operation of the swimming area to include cleaning of bath houses, main pools, pool decks, etc.
