Duties
- You will serve as a Program Specialist (SARSAT) and be responsible for providing system management, administration, oversight and project management expertise for the Coast Guard, and providing U.S.
- SARSAT Program transmission protocols to the Coast Guard systems which support Search and Rescue (SAR).
- Being a Coast Guard civilian makes you a valuable member of the Coast Guard team.
- Typical work assignments include:
- Preparing and delivering oral presentations such as briefings, training sessions, consultations, and strategy sessions in support of the
- SARSAT Program, to secure cooperation, resolve controversial matters, and convey information on policy, proposed changes, and standards development. Providing operational experience and knowledge to achieve
- SAR mission execution capability and interoperability in the
- USCG and with other agencies and
- SAR authorities in compliance with
- U.S. treaty obligations, International Cospas-Sarsat Programme
- Agreement, other international agreements and the
- U.S. SARSAT Program Memorandum of
- Agreement. Serving as
- U.S. SARSAT Program expert in conducting and overseeing various interrelated projects and coordination with other similar national and international agencies and bodies. Providing strategic support to the
- SARSAT Program budget planning and forecasting. In connection with
- SARSAT Program member agencies (USAF, NOAA, and
- NASA), developing system architecture roadmaps and associated costs to support budget planning, programming, and execution. Reasonable Accommodation (RA)
