Summary
This position provides guidance, analysis and oversight of NIH travel, including attendance at non-NIH conferences and the administration of NIH’s Individually Billed Accounts (IBA) government travel cards program. Through these complex and highly interactive activities, OFM provides vital services to the NIH research community in support of scientific and administrative programs.
Duties
Interpret and implement new or revised organizational policies, regulations or procedures. Analyze resources and expenditures to provide policy options for the efficient and appropriate use of funds. Analyze findings of studies, reports, management summaries and briefing papers to assess the overall condition of work completed or in progress. Research and interpret travel policies and procedures. Ensure approved travel complies with applicable travel regulations and policies. Review requests on unusual travel situations (i.e., use of premium class travel, using annual leave while in a TDY status, travel by an indirect route.) Assist in preparation of Travel Authorizations to ensure adherence to travel regulations and policy. Provide guidance and implementation of travel credit card procedures. Conduct periodic audits of travel credit card expenditures. Provide guidance and implementation of travel credit card procedures. Use data mining techniques in order to select transactions outside the norm for review. Coordinate the Government Travel Credit Card program.
