Summary
Support the Military’s Quality of Life programs! The Morale, Welfare, and Recreation (MWR) department of Commander, Navy Installations Command (CNIC) provides fitness, recreation, lodging and food and beverage programs for service members, their families, retired military and civilian employees. This position is assigned to the Non-Appropriated Fund (NAF) Fitness, Sports, and Deployed Support Branch; Fleet Readiness; Commander, Navy Installations command (CNIC); Naval Base Kitsap – Bangor.
Duties
- Remains alert and continuously observes swimming areas to ensure patron safety.
- Ensures all swimmers in the water area accounted for at all times.
- Enforces established policy and procedures specifically, swimming rules and regulations, informs patrons not obeying pool rules or regulations to leave the pool areas and notifies security if necessary.
- Conducts the American Red Cross Learn to Swim Program.
- Conducts swim qualification tests for patrons as appropriate.
- Ensures customer’s needs are being satisfied, aiming to provide excellent customer service by promoting and exhibiting Assists and ensures efficient business operations in accordance with established regulations, procedures and work plan.
- Assists with facility maintenance to include conducting inspections of the pool and surrounding area to ensure cleanliness meets sanitation standards.
- Performs necessary housekeeping tasks in order to maintain pool and facility cleanliness.
- Oversees the completion of the weekly pool cleaning and maintenance logs and tracks progress Coordinates and oversees the execution of planned recreational programs, water aerobics, and specialty programs.
- Distributes and balance the workload among 3 or more employees, assuring timely accomplishment of assigned work.
- Provides on the job training to new employees in accordance with established procedures and practices.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Must be at least 18 years old Work may include extended hours of sitting and standing and prolonged hours in the pool during swim lessons or other activities Work involves frequent lifting or pulling of pool equipment, cleaning supplies, and program participants Applicant must be able to complete 250 yard swim in less than five minutes and regularly demonstrate the ability to rescue victims of various sizes Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds This position is subject to background check accordance with federal regulations
Education
A minimum of high-school diploma or equivalent is required for this position. All proof of education is required to be uploaded to at the time of applying.
