Duties

  • As an International Economist (Pathways Recent Graduates), you will perform the following duties: Use computer applications to provide economic research and maintain databases for econometric models.
  • Collaborate with senior economists to prepare preliminary interpretive reports and communicate research findings, analyses, and project information.
  • Locate and collect relevant data to analyze a specified problem and update databases for econometric models using tables and charts to illustrate analyses.
  • Coordinate the detailed study planning; collection and compilation of data from primary or secondary sources.

Requirements

Applicants must have completed, within the previous two-years, a qualifying associate’s, bachelor’s, master’s, professional, doctorate, vocational or technical degree or certificate from a qualifying educational institution. Exceptions are made for veterans, as defined in 5 USC 2108 , who, due to military service obligations, were precluded from applying to the Recent Graduate Program during the two-year eligibility period described above. Veterans have a full two-year period of eligibility upon their release or discharge from active duty. The eligibility period shall not extend beyond six years from the date of academic completion.

This position is being recruited with an opportunity for non-competitive conversion eligibility to a permanent OR term position upon completion of all Recent Graduate program requirements. Conversion is not mandatory nor guaranteed (see Other Information). You must be a U.S. citizen to apply for this position. This position requires a Secret-Level Security Clearance.

You must be able to obtain and maintain the required clearance. You must successfully pass a background investigation. This may include a credit check, a review of financial issues, as well as certain criminal offenses and illegal use of possession of drugs. A trial period may be required.

The Pathways Recent Graduate Program requires education, as described in the Requirements and Qualifications Sections, above. DOCUMENTATION: You must submit a transcript or unofficial list of courses that includes the following information: name of accredited institution, grades earned, completed or anticipated completion date, and quarter and semester hours earned. See the Required Documents section. Special Instructions for Foreign Education: Qualifying education from colleges and universities in foreign countries must be evaluated in terms of equivalency to that acquired in U.S. colleges and universities.

Applicants educated in whole or in part in foreign countries must submit sufficient evidence, including transcripts, to an accredited private organization for an equivalency evaluation of course work and degree. A listing of these accredited organizations can be found on the Department of Education’s website – http://www.ed.gov/international/usnei/us/workrecog.doc. You MUST provide a copy of the letter containing the results of the equivalency evaluation with a course by course listing along with your application. Failure to provide such documentation when requested will result in lost consideration.

How You Will Be Evaluated

You will be evaluated based on how well you meet the qualifications listed in this vacancy announcement. Your qualifications will be evaluated based on your application materials (e.g., resume, supporting documents), the responses you provide on the application questionnaire, and the result of the online assessments required for this position.
