Summary

The Primary Purpose of this Position is: To teach Prevention and Management of Disruptive Behavior (PMDB) classes to VA employees across several VA North Texas Health Care System facilities and perform a variety of educational, administrative, and technical duties in support of the Workplace Violence Prevention Program (WVPP) The Organizational Location of the Position is: Workplace Violence Prevention Program, Mental Health Service, VA North Texas Health Care System (VANTHCS), Dallas, TX.

Duties

  • Duties include but are not limited to: The incumbent of this position serves as a fulltime Prevention and Management of Disruptive Behavior (PMDB) trainer and as an educational and administrative support for the Workplace Violence Prevention Program (WVPP).
  • To teach PMDB training curriculum on a daily basis to the broad range of facility employees in both in-person and in virtual classroom settings.
  • To teach PMDB containment techniques to clinical staff working on inpatient units.
  • To maintain PMDB trainer certification annually and meet the minimum requirements to maintain the certification.
  • To assist in the coordination of the TMS process for setting up PMDB trainings, including but not limited to scheduling classes, sending training class reminders, downloading class rosters, assigning TMS credit, and tracking class attendance.
  • To help manage administrative aspects for the WVPP and all associated activities, programs, and related committees including the Disruptive Behavior Committee (DBC), and Employee Threat Assessment Team (ETAT).
  • Assist in training and management of the facility's Behavioral Emergency Response Team (BERT) for inpatient units.
