Summary

Duties

  • You will determine need and initiate request for factory inspection of materials.
  • You will review project plans and specifications prior to contract award to determine such things as practicality from a construction standpoint, whether construction difficulties have been anticipated and whether materials selected are available.
  • You will investigate construction operations at all stages to identify problems, report potential problems, and take timely action to report need for and recommend routine changes to supervisor to solve problems such as unusual foundation conditions.
  • You will enforce Contractor Inspection Systems for compliance with plans and specifications, interpret plans and specifications, and ensure all materials and equipment delivered to the construction site are inspected and meet specifications.
  • You will interview contractor employees to ensure that labor laws and regulations are being observed.
  • You will review and evaluate all proposed contract changes and recommend approval or disapproval.
  • You will review contractor invoices and recommend approval or disapproval of payment of the invoice.
  • You will review project plans prior to contract award to determine construction practicality, whether physical obstructions or other construction difficulties have been anticipated and if materials selected are readily available.
