Duties

  • You will install, repair, maintain, service, and operate industrial steam, hot water, and forced air heating systems; water softeners; chemical treatment equipment; and associated steam piping, water piping, and other equipment.
  • You will diagnose and locate malfunctions within heating units and systems in boiler plants, disassembling, repairing, replacing and/or adjusting thermostats, pressurestats, humistats, relays, switches, burners, dampers, and more as needed.
  • You will perform water treatment tests and maintain proper chemical residuals for steam and hot water boilers and closed loop systems.
  • You will inspect, adjust, and replace/repair safety devices such as thermostats, switches, fuel cut-off apparatus, fuel feed, flame safeguard controls, steam valve operators, and linkages.
  • You will operate a two-way radio-equipped vehicle to transport materials, self, and/or others to work site.
