Summary
Eastern Oklahoma VA Health Care System is a Joint Commissioned accredited Level 1c complexity that consists of a 61-bed hospital located in Muskogee as well as six community based outpatient clinics located in Tulsa, Bartlesville, Claremore, Vinita, McAlester and Idabel. In 2021, Congress approved federal funding for a new Veterans Hospital in Tulsa which will be the first hospital to be built under the Communities Helping Invest through Property and Improvements Needed for Veterans Act of 2016.
Duties
- Nurse (ACN), Patient
- Team (PACT) executes leadership that is characterized by substantial and continuous responsibility and accountability for population groups or integrated programs that cross services and/or discipline lines and influence the organizational healthcare mission.
- The ACN functions as an advisor, administrator, educator, consultant, and mentor who possesses a wide range of experience and leadership ability.
- They provide senior leadership and oversight for daily clinical and administrative operations within nursing as directed by the Associate Director for Patient Care Services (ADPCS).
- The ACN supports the integration and collaboration of nursing with other professional disciplines and functional areas in the mutual achievement of patient-centered and organizational goals.
- They champion a High Reliability Organization (HRO) with a lifestyle of safety founded on a systems approach to developing evidence-based health care solutions based on prevention, not punishment, with collective mindfulness.
- The ACN collaborates with interdisciplinary team members, including other program and service leaders at the facility and network.
- They relate effectively with customers, families, and the community as well as program and service leaders at the local and network levels.
- They assist the ADPCS with healthcare operations and the functions and activities expected of them.
- The ACN is responsible for ensuring the delivery of nursing care to Veteran patients and managing nursing personnel within Patient Aligned Care Team programs.
- They collaborate with and provides leadership in the assessment, development, implementation, and evaluation of comprehensive programing.
- They are responsible for efficient and effective management of resources within assigned area of responsibility.
- The ACN is also responsible for assessing and recommending the allocations of human and material resources, in determining staffing levels, managing overtime, and recruitment and retention of nursing staff.
- This position may include a level of physicality normally associated with duties performed by nurses such as direct patient care, and potentially long periods of walking, standing, sitting, moderate lifting, repeated bending, or kneeling.

Requirements
