The New Mexico VA Health Care System (NMVAHCS) Mental Health Inpatient service is seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse to join our team for the Assistant Nurse Manager Role! They function as a clinical expert and are responsible for all elements of the nursing process while providing or supervising direct patient care. Assumes responsibility for focused care, demonstrating sound decision-making, judgement and possesses excellent interpersonal skills.
Duties
- The Nurse Assistant Nurse Manager (ANM) supports the Nurse Manager (NM) with supervisory duties and responsibility and accountability for the 24/7 operation of their designated units.
- They provide coverage for other ANMs as needed.
- The ANM has responsibility and accountability for the direction and supervision of specific orientation, training, development of staff, and provides input into the evaluation of individual staff performance.
- They function as a role model, educator, practitioner, and supervisor providing leadership to the team.
- They enhance care outcomes by collaborating with members of the interdisciplinary team to remove barriers and implement new evidence-based cutting-edge programs/processes.
- Duties include but not limited to the following: Contributes to the development of care delivery models and environmental design, ensuring evidence-based, accessible, affordable, and equitable patient care.
- Ensures compliance with accreditation and regulatory standards.
- Aligns nursing/clinical objectives with organizational strategic outcomes, participating in strategy planning and execution.

Requirements
- U.S. Citizenship; non-citizens may only be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with VA Policy.
