Summary
This position is located in the Resident Services Directorate, Leisure & Wellness, Recreational Activities Division, at the Armed Forces Retirement Home in Washington, D.C. The mission of AFRH is to fulfill our nation’s commitment to its veterans by providing a premier retirement community with exceptional residential care and extensive support services.
Duties
- As an Art Specialist, you will: Oversee all activities in the Ceramics Studio, Woodshop, Multi-craft rooms, Art Colony, Sewing Room.
- Teach a variety of classes to the Independent Living, Independent Living Plus, Assisted Living residents, and Long-Term Care residents outside of the Ceramics Studio.
- Conduct weekly safety inspections of all areas of responsibility.
- Plan field trips with residents to a facility/fair as requested by residents to purchase supplies as needed.

Education
Education Requirements: The education generally must be from an accredited (or pre-accredited) college or university recognized by the U.S. Department of Education.
