Summary

THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This National Guard position is for an AIRCRAFT MECHANIC SUPERVISOR, Position Description Number PDD0735000 and is part of the WY Army Aviation Support Facility, Wyoming Army National Guard. This is a Title 32 Dual Status Technician Excepted Service position. Military affiliation is required.

Duties

  • The purpose of this position is to supervise workers, either directly or through one or more subordinate leaders and/or supervisors, in accomplishing the operations of a distinct organizational unit and to perform associated nonsupervisory work.
  • The occupation and nonsupervisory grade level which best reflects the nature of the overall work operations supervised is Aircraft Mechanic, WG-8852-11. 1.
  • Plans weekly or monthly work schedules and sequence of operations. 2.
  • Assigns tasks to be performed; explains work requirements, methods, and procedures. 3.
  • Recommends and participates in the selection of personnel to fill vacancies 4.
  • Performs the nonsupervisory work of the function as needed. 5.
  • Implements regulatory safety requirements and ensures that subordinates wear appropriate safety equipment and follow pertinent safety precautions. 6.
  • Prepares for and participates in various types of readiness evaluations, inspections, mobilization and command support exercises. ** This is NOT an all-inclusive list of duties. **

Requirements

KEY REQUIREMENTS: Must be currently employed within WY ARNG Army Aviation Support Facility as a Perm/INDEF technician. Must submit IPPS-A STP and SF-50 with application. Must possess or be able to obtain/maintain a T3/SECRET security clearance. May be required to successfully complete a two-year trial and one-year supervisory probation period.

EMPLOYMENT CONDITIONS: Technicians are paid through Direct Deposit/Electronic Funds Transfer (DD/EFT). Military Technicians are ineligible for military enlistment, retention, student loan repayment bonuses, and other education incentives. Acceptance of a Technician position over 180 days will result in suspension or termination of these military incentives. Military Technicians in the excepted service will wear the appropriate uniform while performing as a technician. Veteran’s preference does not apply to National Guard Technician positions in accordance with Title 32 USC 709(f). CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT: 1. Must be able to obtain and maintain the appropriate security clearance of the position. 2.

This position is covered by the Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment (30 Sep 96) of the Gun Control Act (Lautenberg Amendment) of 1968. An individual convicted of a qualifying crime of domestic violence may not perform the duties of this position. 3. Ability to establish effective professional working relationships with coworkers and customers, contributing to a cooperative working environment and successful accomplishment of the mission. 4. Irregular and/or overtime (compensatory) hours may be required to support operational requirements or contingencies or may be required to work hours outside of the normal duty day. 5.
