Duties

  • Performs analyze malfunctions, troubleshoot, repair, install, maintain, test, inspect, and modify the electrical/environmental systems and other systems on and/or off-aircraft.
  • Performs maintenance, inspects, modifies, tests, services, troubleshoots, isolates malfunctions, and repairs the aircraft electrical/environmental systems and other aircraft systems.
  • Provides technical advice and troubleshooting expertise to other work centers as needed when electrical or environmental systems affect the aircraft systems such as radar, weapons release, navigation, communication, instruments, flight controls, pneudraulics, fuel or other systems/subsystems.
  • Provides on-the-job training to lower graded personnel or to newly assigned personnel regardless of grade.
  • Requisitions, processes, and accounts for supply assets as required by the repairable processing system.
  • Complies with safety, fire, security, and housekeeping regulations and ensures that material and equipment are properly stored, protected, maintained and secured. ** This is NOT an all-inclusive list of duties.

Requirements

Key Requirements: Open to current or prior service active duty, reserve or national guard members of one of the branches of the US Air Force, Army, Navy, or Marines. Military members: Submit vMPF Rip, DVR, STP, ERS, MBS, or PDR with resume. Prior service members: Submit a DD Form 214.

  • May be required to successfully complete a two-year trial period. Federal employment suitability is determined by a background investigation. Recruitment/Relocation Incentive May Be authorized, if eligible. Subject to funding and TAG approval. PCS costs are not authorized.
  • Must be willing to relocate at own expense if selected.
  • Employment Conditions & NOTES: Technicians are paid through Direct Deposit/Electronic Funds Transfer (Dd/eft).
  • Military Technicians are ineligible for military enlistment, retention, and student loan repayment bonuses.
  • Acceptance of a Technician position will terminate these military incentives.
