Summary
About the Position: This position is located in the Director for Mental Health, Department of Mental Health Acute and Outpatient Services Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Bethesda, MD. Hours of operation: Monday- Friday 0730 – 1600 This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.
Duties
- Provides comprehensive mental health care to children, adolescents, and adults.
- Performs psychiatric intakes, evaluations, and prescribes medications.
- Educates patients about medication risks, benefits, and side effects; monitors progress and efficacy.
- Coordinates with primary care and other providers for referrals, feedback, and ongoing care.
- Maintains accurate records using computerized systems for documentation and coding.
- Complies with Joint Commission standards, National Patient Safety goals, and other quality initiatives.
- Participates in quality improvement systems and projects.
Education
