Summary
Northern Arizona VA Health Care System is looking for a Registered Nurse to join the team in Geriatrics & Extended Care (Community Living Center)! This is a nightshift position.
Duties
- The Registered Nurse (RN) position is located at the Northern Arizona VA Health Care System in Geriatrics and Extended Care.
- The RN’s functions are to provide nursing care to Veterans within the Community Living Center (CLC) to include Hospice, Dementia, short-stay rehabilitation, and Long-stay care.
- Duties include but are not limited to: Willing to work cooperatively as a member of the assigned team and demonstrate customer service principles in all aspects of work.
- Will perform job duties independently and in accordance with established departmental and hospital procedures.
- Reports to the CLC Nurse Manager and Assistant Nurse Manager, but must work in collaboration with the Charge Nurses, Staff Nurses, Nursing Assistants, Medical Support Assistants, Social Workers, Minimum Data Set Coordinators, Restorative and Recreational care, and Providers of the assigned team.

- EDRP Authorized: This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program.

- Program Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) & eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after review of the EDRP application.

Requirements
- U.S. Citizenship; non-citizens may only be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with VA Policy.

Each dimension of practice has criteria that demonstrate essential core competencies for VHA Nursing Personnel.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religions; spiritual; community; student; social).
Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
