Summary

About the position: This position is FLEX and will be assigned to the Hurlburt Field Aquatics Center and is not guaranteed a set amount of hours, but can be scheduled 0 – 40 hours per week. As a federal employee you will have access to all Hurlburt Field FSS facilities. Growth and other benefit opportunities also available.

Duties

  • Continuously observes swimming area to ensure safety of patrons.
  • Ensures the swimming area is open to patrons at scheduled times and only authorized persons are admitted to the area.
  • Rescues swimmers in trouble, promptly administers first aid, and calls for medical assistance if and when needed.
  • Warns swimmers of unsafe environmental or health conditions, and recommends closing swimming areas until safe conditions prevail.
  • When working at pools, may operate water pumps and control chemical additives to ensure pool water meets specified standards.
  • Ensures that diving boards are inspected frequently for cracks or loose matting, and that necessary repairs are made.
  • May perform other related or incidental duties as assigned for the daily operation of the swimming area to include:
