Summary
South Texas Veterans Health Care System is seeking an RN for Polytrauma Transitional Rehabilitation Program at the Audie L. Murphy Division in San Antonio, TX who will be responsible and accountable for all elements of the nursing process, assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating care based on age-specific components, coordinating care focused on patient education, self-management, and customer satisfaction throughout the continuum of care and administering medications and procedures.
Duties
- As a Polytrauma Rehabilitation Registered Nurse (RN), you will execute position responsibilities that demonstrate leadership, experience, and creative approaches to management of complex patient care. Duties include but are not limited to the following:
- Collaborate in the development, implementation, evaluation, and revision of policies, procedures, and/or guidelines.
- Demonstrate performance and leadership that is broad enough to improve the care for a group of patients.
- Provide peers with formal or informal constructive feedback for improvement.
- Support colleagues and other nurses through knowledge sharing to provide safe, quality nursing care.
- Foster a safe and supportive environment conducive to the professional development of health care professionals.
- Evaluate outcomes of evidence-based decisions and practice changes for individuals, groups, and populations.
- Document outcomes at the program/service level.
- Program or service level outcomes are broad and complex, demonstrated at any organizational level within a facility.

Requirements
- Citizenship; non-citizens may only be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with VA Policy.

Education
The Associate Degree Nursing (ADN), Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing (BSN), or Master of Science degree in Nursing (MSN) must be fully accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) or the Commission On Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE).
