Summary
As a Staff Specialist (Driver) at the GS-0301-9, you will be part of the Executive Secretariat, Office of the Chair, U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission. If selected, you will be responsible for maintaining recordkeeping, and documenting and retrieving information on all matters requiring formal action by the Commission as a policy-making body. The incumbent will also serve as the driver for the Chair.
Duties
- Coordinates the processing, tracking, and circulation of Commission decision documents, including litigation recommendations, notation votes, subpoenas, and “Notice and Hold” materials.
- Provides official driving services for the Chair and senior officials, including local and out-of-town travel, and securely transports sensitive documents to high-level government offices.
- Supports Commission meetings by preparing agendas, gathering materials, setting up meeting spaces, attending sessions, recording actions, and preparing required Federal Register notices.
- Develops and finalizes the Commission’s annual Government in the Sunshine Act report, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timely submission.
- Prepares written summaries of Commission actions, distributes assignments, conducts follow-up on tasking, and ensures senior officials receive accurate and timely information.
- Manages correspondence control for the Chair, including receiving, analyzing, assigning, tracking, and editing materials, and preparing status reports for leadership.
- Designs and maintains records and retrieval systems for Commission decisions, policies, correspondence, and meeting materials, ensuring compliance with Sunshine Act and FOIA requirements.
