Duties

  • Licensed Practical Nurse: https://youtube.com/embed/Ae85IP1Oiz4 Total Rewards of a Allied Health Professional Major Duties and Responsibilities: The LPN/LVN Provides direct care to employees as a primary point of contact for the Occupational Health program.
  • This position will work collaboratively with designated providers, nursing staff, HR representatives and Safety personnel to provide initial assessments and triage of employees who are injured in the course of their duty while on station.
  • Technically proficient in initiating, performing, and completing assigned duties in providing care to variable patient populations.
  • Knowledge and ability to appropriately carry out assigned patient care selecting the appropriate order and sequence of procedures and treatments; and to accurately recognize, report and record relevant patient information Places providers orders or standing orders in CPRS.
  • Takes and records vital signs.
  • Performs front desk support as needed including answering phones, ordering supplies, receiving employee/patients, collecting documents, ensuring completeness of documents.
  • Actively participates in employee health medical records creating, keeping, copying, scanning, mailing and purging.
  • Provide records to other VA facilities using multiple methods including: Scanning, Faxing, Mailing, Emailing.
  • Manage calendar; working between human resources and occupational health to ensure that candidates are scheduled correctly and that there are adequate appointments available to ensure access.
  • Maintains office and medical supplies.
  • Orders as needed and maintain storage area.
  • Provides vaccine administration and education.
  • Provides nursing care and assistance to patients in need.
  • Actively participates in and documents employee lab results and medical care.
  • Provides patient and family with privacy to the extent possible during delivery of nursing care.
  • Maintains confidentiality and uses discretion when discussing patient information.
  • Follows applicable regulations and instructions regarding department documentation guidelines.
  • Establishes and maintains good interpersonal relationships with patients, families, visitors, peers, and ancillary departments.
  • Attends mandatory in-services and activities and maintains current licensure and education.
  • Within 3 months of hire establishes certification and competency in urine drug screen collection such that the task and associated administrative tasks can be completed without supervision Within 6 months of hire, completes training and certification for Medical
  • Review Officer Assistant.
  • Will be able to competently perform the responsibilities of the role without supervision.
  • Competently performs specimen collection, prepares labeling of specimen and transports to the laboratory.
  • Other duties as assigned from service.
  • Work Schedule: Monday
  • Friday; 7:00 a.m.

  • Subsidy: After 60 days of employment, full time employees with a total family income below $144,000 may be eligible for a childcare subsidy up to 25% of total eligible childcare costs for eligible children up to the monthly maximum of $416.66.
  • Retirement: Traditional federal pension (5 years vesting) and federal 401K with up to 5% in contributions by VA.
