About the position: This position is Non-Appropriated Fund (NAF) and will be assigned to the Moose Run Golf Course on Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson, AK. This is a Seasonal position Not-To-Exceed 31-OCT-2026. This position is Flexible, meaning you are guaranteed a minimum of 0 hours per week to a maximum of 40 hours per week. Your schedule will depend on needs of the facility.
Duties
- Serves as spray technician responsible for a 36-hole golf course.
- Uses suitable Integrated Pest (IPM) methods to reduce and control hazards to turf and vegetation, public health, stored products, and structures.
- Independently plans work sequences and conducts trouble-shooting inspections for evidence of conditions conducive to damage and infestation by insects, rodents, predatory animals, and other pests. 2.
- Exercises a high degree of responsibility to ensure a variety of hazardous pesticides is mixed in accordance with applicable state and federal requirements.
- Coordinates with facility engineering and management personnel concerning IPM control procedures including pest control. 3.
- Sprays or spreads pesticides on golf course grounds and structures to treat pests, turf diseases, insects, and other rodents and to maintain course in good condition.
- Operates a variety of hand and power operated applicators, garden tools, and equipment to include ultra-low volume (ULV) and ultra-low dosage (ULD) sprayers and power generators, sprayers, seeders, edgers, hedge trimmers, etc. for the purpose of applying, spreading treatments, liming, seeding, planting, and watering fairways and greens.
- Performs operator maintenance on pest control and other equipment and ensures safe condition. 4.
- Coordinates stock levels of pest control materials with Superintendent to ensure adequate supplies are available to meet peak and seasonal demands.
- Documents use of chemicals applied in accordance with federal and state requirements and prepares reports as required. 5.
- Performs other duties related to grounds maintenance work such as planting, mowing, spreading topsoil, liming, fertilizing, seeding, planting, and watering. 6.

Education
