Summary

This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific individual eligibility requirements in accordance with VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Program Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) and eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after complete review of the EDRP application.

  • Responsibilities: The HCHV Liaison works in coordination with the HCHV Program team to provide a seamless system of healthcare services under the supervision of the HCHV Program
  • The HCHV Liaison will serve as the Contracting Officer Representative (COR) and as such, will make recommendations about contract renewal to the VISN (Veterans Integrated Service Network) Contracting Office.
  • The HCHV Liaison monitors the clinicalcare and assesses the compliance of the programs in contract with the VAMC.
  • When necessary, the HCHV Liaison intervenes to facilitate compliance or corrective actions and, when appropriate, develops, facilitates, and monitors plans of correction.
  • The HCHV Liaison provides administrative oversight of the HCHV contract funded programs as defined in the HCHV rules, regulations, and directives.
  • This may include verification of veteran status and eligibility for participation in the contract housing program, maintaining admission and discharge dates of participants for billing purposes, reviewing and approving/disapproving readmissions to and extensions of care, collecting and submitting
  • Participant information as outlined by NEPEC (Northeast Program Evaluation Center), HOMES (Homeless Operations and
  • Management Evaluation Systems) and any other evaluation procedures, and tracking scheduling for and attendance at required VA Mental Health/ Substance Abuse, and/or medical appointments.
  • The HCHV Liaison coordinates and participates in annual program site inspections utilizing the HCHV Program rules, regulations, and directives as guidance and forwards completed inspection packages to the appropriate offices.
  • When necessary, the HCHV Liaison notes inspection deficiencies and establishes methods to monitor corrective actions.
  • This process may include development of timelines for consequences as a result of inaction or insufficient action related to deficiencies.
  • The HCHV Liaison serves as a Point of Contact for the National Call Center for Homeless Veterans and follows up with area veterans by providing access to emergency housing, assessment and OKCVAMC or community services/resources.

  • Pay: Competitive salary and regular salary increases When setting pay, a higher step rate of the appropriate grade may be determined after consideration of higher or unique qualifications or special needs of the VA (Above Minimum Rate of the Grade).
  • Paid Time Off: 37-50 days of annual paid time offer per year (13-26 days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, 11 paid Federal holidays per year)
  • Selected applicants may qualify for credit toward annual leave accrual, based on prior [work experience] or military service experience.
  • Parental Leave: After 12 months of employment, up to 12 weeks of paid parental leave in connection with the birth, adoption, or foster care placement of a child.
  • Subsidy: After 60 days of employment, full time employees with a total family income below $144,000 may be eligible for a childcare subsidy up to 25% of total eligible childcare costs for eligible children up to the monthly maximum of $416.66.
  • Retirement: Traditional federal pension (5 years vesting) and federal 401K with up to 5% in contributions by VA Insurance: Federal health/vision/dental/term life/long-term care (many federal insurance programs can be carried into retirement)
