Summary

The VA Northeast Ohio Healthcare System is recruiting for a Podiatrist (Surgery Advanced Rearfoot/Ankle). The Podiatrist (Surgery Advanced Rearfoot/Ankle) will function in Surgical Service.

Duties

  • VA offers a comprehensive total rewards package.
  • Clinical podiatry providers duties: evaluate, diagnose, treat, and provide consultation to adult patients with acute, chronic, and complex pedal problems.
  • Ordering and providing preliminary interpretation of appropriate diagnostic and therapeutic modalities.
  • Privileges also include supervision, teaching, and involvement of medical students, trainees, residents, and fellows in the same setting.
  • Outpatient clinical procedures including
  • Surgical and chemical nail procedures, soft tissue procedures (including
  • Incision/biopsy soft tissue lesions, repair of simple lacerations, I&D-localized abscess, ulcer debridement), Foreign body removal (superficial/subcutaneous) and non-surgical treatment of tendons and non-displaced fractures of the foot and ankle.
  • Rearfoot Specific Procedures: Surgical procedures of Midfoot/Rearfoot including: Soft tissue of ankle -Tarsal tunnel release, tendon repair/augmentation, fasciotomy; Bone -arthroplasty/arthrodesis/arthroscopy, Osteotomy, excision of ossicle/exostosis, ORIF (fibular), coalition, dislocation.
  • Rearfoot Complex Procedures: Surgical procedures of Rearfoot including: Amputation -rearfoot/ankle (Symes) Bone- ORIF (calcaneus, cuboid, navicular, pilon, talus, trimalleolar), Cavus/Charcot/flatfoot, Reconstruction, Ilizarov/Delta Frames, Total ankle replacement, Talus replacement, Arthrodesis (Ankle/Subtalar/Talonavicular/Calcaneocuboid/Naviculocuneiform) Work Schedule: 8:00am
  • Friday; may be required to work some weekends and evenings (Schedule is variable based on needs of the service and at supervisor's discretion) on call expectations will include weekends holidays and evenings Compressed/Flexible: Compressed or Flexible Work
