Summary
The Community Living Center Registered Nurse delivers fundamental knowledge-based care to assigned clients while developing technical skills. Asses, plans, implements and evaluates care focused on patient education, self-management, and customer satisfaction though out the continuum of care. Administers medications and procedures per established policies and guidelines. Influences care outcomes by collaborating with members of the interdisciplinary team.
Duties
- Community Living Center Registered Nurse is responsible and accountable for individual nursing practice and determines the appropriate delegation of tasks consistent with the nurse's obligation to provide optimal care.
- The focus is on individual growth and development in practice with increased level of self direction.
- Ability to formulate a plan of care based on nursing assessments.
- Seeks guidance in how to improve care provided to residents and families.
- The RN brings principles and theory with the application of critical thinking skills.
- Seeks documentation guidance from the Minimum Data Set (MDS) Coordinator to ensure accuracy of the Resource Utilization Group (RUG) score.

Requirements
- Citizenship; non-citizens may only be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with VA Policy.
