Duties

  • Lead and oversee the preparation of secure postal shipments and armored carrier transports to the Dept of State, regional offices, as well as other end users.
  • Assist the journey person in cleaning to include dust removal, sweeping, vacuuming, disposal of trash and production waste.
  • Verify content, carton assembly, and security of shipments and assure that stock items are properly marked, tagged, labeled and placed in proper locations.
  • Direct or assist in loading or unloading cargo and check to see that loads are properly distributed and secured.
  • Load cartons in secured transport cages and uses and hand-operated power truck to transport cages of cartons to/from loading dock.
  • Follow specified postal procedures for shipments, i.e., weights, labels, registers, and stamp cartons and ensures all mailing procedures are correct.

Education

Substitution of education in lieu of specialized experience may not be used for this grade level.
