Summary
You will serve as a TELECOMMUNICATIONS SPECIALIST in the Operations Department, Technical Control, Operations Department of NAVAL COMP TELCOM AREA WESTPAC.
Duties
You will monitor the timely delivery of message traffic between communications facilities, aircraft and Afloat forces.
You will ensure the availability and functionality of the TCF telecommunications equipment system to include the Automated Network Control Center.
You will monitor, patching, and operating digital, analog, audio, and optical circuitry within a Technical Control Facility (TCF) or similar network operations center.
You will be configuring, troubleshooting, and maintaining High Frequency (HF), Super High Frequency (SHF), Ultra High Frequency (UHF), and Extremely High Frequency (EHF) satellite communications systems.
You will experience initiating outage reports, Hazardous Conditions (HAZCONs), and system health checks to resolve complex telecommunications network issues.
Education
Applicants may substitute the following education for the required experience, provided it demonstrates the knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to do the work in evaluating, analyzing, developing, managing, or improving communications systems, procedures, and requirements that demonstrated knowledge of current developments and trends in communications concepts and technology: Master’s or equivalent graduate degree. or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree. or LL.B. or J.D., if related.
