IT Cybersecurity Specialist (Sysadmin/Infosec)

Summary

This position is being recruited under 10 USC 1599f into the Cyber Excepted Service and does NOT convey eligibility to be converted to the Competitive Service. It has been identified as a position necessary to carry out and support the mission of the US Cyber Command. It is in the Professional Work Category at the Full Performance Work Level within the CES Occupational Structure. It is located in the DISA J6/C4 ENTERPRISE DIRECTORATE, located within the Raven Rock Mountain Complex (RRMC)..

Duties

• Develops and implements systems diagnostic and maintenance tools to ensure the availability and functionality of systems required to support organizational objectives.
• Develops standards and criteria for assessing server performance, availability, capacity or configuration problems.
• Develops procedures for responding to new threats to systems to ensure confidentiality, integrity and availability.
• Installs and configures commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) applications and software/hardware enhancement products.
• Oversees the management of accounts, network rights, and access to systems and equipment.
• Develops and presents training on the operation and maintenance of systems to the IT staff.

Education

There is no substitution of education for the qualifying experience at the GG-12 grade level.
