Summary

This position is located at Stars and Stripes Central in Washington, D.C. Incentives and Bonuses Incentives will not be paid.

Duties

  • Directs overall archives operation for Stars and Stripes media organization.
  • Performs professional archival work in appraising, accessing, arranging, describing, preserving and publishing records created by the news organization.
  • Responsible for maintaining historical content of Stars and Stripes publications from World War II to the present. Identifies and directs the purchase of relevant reference materials.
  • Evaluates effectiveness of the archive automated systems, determines requirements and conducts studies to improve systems operations.
  • Supervises assigned staff, conducts employee appraisals, advocates training, and provides appropriate recognition and feedback for performance.

Education

A graduate level degree in any of the following concentrations; Archives Management, Library Science, Information Services, or Information Management from an accredited college or university.
