Summary
About the Position: This position is located at West Point, New York, Keller Army Community Hospital, Department of Nursing. This is an in-person position 0800-1600, Monday-Friday. A Recruitment or Relocation Incentive MAY be authorized to highly qualified candidates. Salary negotiation may be available for those candidates who are new to Federal service. This is a Direct Hire Solicitation
Duties
- Track and investigate health care-associated infections (HAIs) to identify outbreaks, trends, and their root causes.
- Translate clinical research and public health guidelines into actionable, facility-wide protocols (e.g., proper hand hygiene, safe sharps disposal, and isolation procedures).
- Train clinical and administrative personnel on infection prevention techniques, including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Perform regular facility rounds and audits to ensure strict adherence to guidelines set by the CDC, WHO, and The Joint Commission.
- Develop and implement infection control policies and procedures.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to develop and implement infection control programs.
- Stay up-to-date with current infection control practices and regulations.
- Provide expertise on Water Management Protocols, High-level, and low-level disinfection, medical and dental instrument sterilization, infection control risk assessments associated with construction projects at the hospital, and more.
