Summary
About the Position: This position is located within Tripler Army Medical Center (TAMC) in the Department of Surgery, Otolaryngology SVC, Honolulu, Hawaii. Tripler Army Medical Center is a tobacco-free workplace. Tobacco products include, but are not limited to, smoking, smokeless tobacco, and electronic nicotine delivery devices.
Duties
- Perform entry level triage of patients within a clinic environment, screening exams independently and efficiently, in an often fast-paced environment.
- Direct the flow of patients; obtain medical and personal data and accurately transcribe into the patient medical record (hard copy and/or electronic) according to established techniques and procedures.
- Ensure medical records are prepared and available.
- Complete other assigned office administrative work in support of clinical care.
- Instill basic medication administration via atomizer per surgeons’ orders/standard operating procedures.
- Assist with the preparation of the full spectrum of complex, intricate examinations appropriate for the clinical setting, which vary depending on the status.
- Ensure proper computer entry of patient data and equipment settings.
- Ensure proper preparation, cleaning disinfection and sterilization of surgical and clinical instruments/equipment.
Education
