Duties

  • As an Operations Research Analyst you will perform a wide range of operations research and analytic activities to advise and assist management in solving complex programmatic and administrative issues relating to strategy development, process modernization, resource allocation, acquisition planning, program scheduling, system design, and budget formulation.
  • These activities include quantitative and qualitative analysis, mathematical modeling, simulation, applied mathematics, statistics, probability, process improvement, supply chain analysis, economic analysis and cost analysis.

  • Typical duties include: Applying accepted operations research and analytic methods to analyze and evaluate programs, projects, and processes and to support related ongoing or proposed contract work within the organization.
  • Serving as a senior analyst in applying one or more of the following ORSA techniques: error analysis, network analysis, resource allocation modeling, software resource modeling, statistical sampling analysis, simulation-based risk modeling, and development of measures of effectiveness to include measurement instrumentation planning.
  • Utilizing expert judgment and extensive background to identify and initiate action on impending problems or required areas of analysis by establishing task objectives, defining alternatives, constraints and assumptions.
  • Applying descriptive and predictive analytics with mathematical optimization methods to advise and consult to senior subject matter experts and management with broad program responsibility on alternative courses of action.
