Summary

You will serve as a RIGGER in the Waterfront Support Department, Crane and Division of TRIREFFAC KINGS BAY.

Duties

  • You will be responsible for the planning, laying out, assembling, repairing, testing, and installing complex weight handling gear and various standing and running rigging to move and/or remove.
  • You will plan rigging jobs for movement of shipboard components, equipment, or material through confined submarine, shop, and other areas.
  • You will estimate weight and center of gravity of item to be moved.
  • You will provide direction to crane operators to provide for the safe and effective movement of items to and from submarines, shops and other areas.
  • You will operate material handling equipment such as forklifts, JLG man-lift high reach equipment, trucks, etc.
  • You will manufacture, fabricate and repair standing and running rigging required to support movement of items with cranes or weight handling equipment.
