Duties
- Conduct surveys, independently or in conjunction with an industrial hygienist, to identify and evaluate potential health hazards.
- Prepare written reports of health hazard assessments under the guidance of the chief.
- Perform respirator fit testing per appropriate standards and guidelines.
- Maintain records associated with maintenance and calibration of equipment.
- Enter data collected from surveys of air samples into a reporting system database.
- Coordinate, schedule, and conduct regular inspections of all work areas to ensure that workers are wearing the required personal protective devices and that work practices designed to minimize or eliminate hazards are being followed.
- Serve as a point of contact for external organizations providing independent comprehensive industrial hygienist services.
- Maintain accountability of assigned equipment.
