Registered Nurse – Medical Surgical Telemetry Inpatient

Summary

The VA seeks one Registered Nurse (RN) for the Margaret Cochran Corbin VA Campus for a Medical Surgical Telemetry Inpatient unit. The RN delivers compassionate, high-quality care to Veterans and is accountable for all aspects of the nursing process. Duties include coordinating care, supporting Veteran education and self-management, ensuring patient satisfaction, administering medications and procedures per policy, and collaborating with the interdisciplinary team to improve outcomes.

Duties

• Duties Include but not limited to: Responsible for providing competent, evidence-based care to assigned patients and oversight of licensed vocational nurses/nursing assistants, as appropriate to the setting.
• Assist in directing the provision of nursing education, orientation, competencies and providing quality improvement and outcomes utilization consultation.
• Demonstrate leadership in delivering and improving holistic care through collaborative strategies with others.
• Evaluate practice in an ongoing process, based on best evidence.
• Provide peers with informal constructive feedback for improvement.
• Foster a safe and supportive environment conducive to the professional development of healthcare professionals.
• Contribute professional nursing perspective in discussions with the interdisciplinary team.
• Partner with others to effect change and produce optimal outcomes.
• Support colleagues through knowledge sharing to provide safe, quality nursing care.

Requirements
