Summary

This position is in Education Service (EDU). The Service has department-wide responsibility for activities relating to administering VA educational assistance programs to Veterans, Service members, National Guard and Reserve members, and eligible dependents for their military service to the Nation. This mission is accomplished by providing financial assistance, generally in the form of monthly benefit payments, as mandated in Title 38 and Title 10, United States Code.

Duties

  • The incumbent serves as a Management Analyst within VBA Education Service, and reports to the Executive Management Officer through the Supervisory Management & Program Analyst (Executive Support).
  • Specific duties include: The incumbent is responsible for the coordination of budget and administrative activities for Central Office and field offices, and providing financial and technical support to the Executive Management Officer and Executive Director, who rely heavily on judgment and recommendations made by this individual.
  • Assists in providing guidance and assistance in matters of budget formulation and executive practices, management practices and procedures related to personnel administration, budget management, office program planning work, administrative and support services, and management improvement studies.
  • Responsibilities also include coordinating activities with VA and other VBA offices and tracking/managing the day-to-day fiscal and administrative activities and assignments for the Executive Management Officer.
